Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp almond extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 jar cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar until well mixed.
  2. Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla extract and almond extract.
  4. Stir in sifted flour and baking powder until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into a prepared 9 x 13-inch pan.
  6. Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly over the top of the batter into 12 spots.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes, until the cake tests done.
