Ingredients

  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cherry gelatin
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 cups pitted tart cherries
  • 1 baked 9-inch pie shell
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding

Instructions

  1. Combine cherry gelatin and sugar; add boiling water and stir until gelatin is dissolved.
  2. Drain cherries and reserve 3/4 cup cherry juice. Add juice to gelatin mixture; chill until slightly thickened.
  3. Stir in cherries and pour into cooled pie shell.
  4. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  5. Blend milk and sour cream in a mixing bowl; add vanilla pudding.
  6. Beat with rotary beater until well blended, about 1 minute.
  7. Spread over cherries; chill at least 2 hours before serving.
