Cherry Trifle

A delightful layered cherry trifle featuring vanilla pudding, fresh cherry pie filling, toasted almonds, and whipped topping, perfect for entertaining or a sweet family treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 c. cold milk
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) pound cake
  • 1/4 c. orange juice
  • 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 1/2 c. whipped topping
  • 1/2 c. sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Mix pudding with cold milk as directed on the package.
  2. Let the pudding stand for 5 minutes.
  3. Thinly slice the pound cake and brush slices with orange juice.
  4. Line the bottom and sides of a 2-quart glass bowl with the cake slices.
  5. Spread 1/2 of the pudding over the cake layer.
  6. Add 1/3 of the cherry pie filling on top of the pudding.
  7. Spread 1/2 cup of whipped topping over the cherry filling.
  8. Add another layer of cake slices on top of the whipped topping.
  9. Repeat the layers: pudding, cherry filling, whipped topping, and cake slices.
  10. Spread the remaining whipped topping all over the top of the trifle.
  11. Spoon the cherry pie filling into the center, leaving a 1-inch border.
  12. Sprinkle toasted sliced almonds around the edge.
  13. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
