Chicken And Fusilli

A hearty chicken and fusilli bake with melted mozzarella, rich tomato sauce, and tender chicken, perfect for comforting family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 3 lb. chicken
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 16 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1/4 c. sherry
  • 3/4 lb. fusilli
  • 8 oz. mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Coat the chicken with flour.
  2. In a large frypan over medium heat, melt the margarine.
  3. Cook the chicken until browned on all sides.
  4. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and sherry, then heat to boiling.
  5. Reduce heat to low; cover the pan and simmer for 45 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through, basting occasionally with sauce.
  6. Cook the fusilli according to package instructions; drain.
  7. Place the cooked fusilli on an ovenproof platter.
  8. Arrange the cooked chicken on top of the fusilli.
  9. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and fusilli.
  10. Place mozzarella cheese slices over the chicken.
  11. Broil for 3 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
