Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb. chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 to 2 eggs
  • panko flakes

Instructions

  1. Debone the chicken thighs.
  2. Place the chicken in a bowl, add sake, and sprinkle with salt.
  3. Let sit for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat 1 to 2 eggs and add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Dip the chicken thighs into the egg batter, then roll in panko flakes.
  6. Deep fry the coated chicken in hot oil until golden and cooked through.
  7. Cut into bite-sized strips and serve with tonkatsu sauce if desired.
