- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Sprinkle chopped onion, dried oregano, dried parsley, and 2 tablespoons water on the bottom of a shallow baking pan.
- Arrange chicken pieces on top of the onion and herbs mixture.
- Cut the Italian sausage into 1-inch diagonal slices and place them on top of the chicken.
- Bake uncovered for 45 minutes, turning the sausage once and basting with pan juices halfway through cooking.
