Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 6 chicken legs or 1 whole chicken, cut up
  • 1 pound sweet Italian sausage

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Sprinkle chopped onion, dried oregano, dried parsley, and 2 tablespoons water on the bottom of a shallow baking pan.
  3. Arrange chicken pieces on top of the onion and herbs mixture.
  4. Cut the Italian sausage into 1-inch diagonal slices and place them on top of the chicken.
  5. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes, turning the sausage once and basting with pan juices halfway through cooking.
