Ingredients

  • 5 deboned chicken breasts
  • oregano
  • dab of margarine
  • Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 to 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Make a slit in each chicken breast to create a pocket for the cheese.
  3. Stuff each chicken breast with Monterey Jack cheese and secure with wooden toothpicks.
  4. Brush each stuffed chicken breast with a dab of margarine.
  5. Beat the egg in a shallow bowl.
  6. Place flour in a separate shallow dish.
  7. Place seasoned bread crumbs in another shallow dish.
  8. Dip each stuffed chicken breast into the beaten egg, then coat thoroughly with flour.
  9. Next, coat with seasoned bread crumbs, pressing them onto the chicken to adhere.
  10. Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet and bake for about 30 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
