Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 half chicken breasts
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup sherry
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper; brown in melted margarine.
  2. Remove chicken to a greased shallow casserole.
  3. Add sour cream, sherry, and cream of mushroom soup to the melted margarine.
  4. Mix well and pour the sauce over the chicken.
  5. Cover and bake at 350°F for 1 1/2 hours or until done.
  6. If using boneless, skinless chicken breasts, check after 45 minutes as it will finish cooking sooner.
  7. If your pan is nonstick, use only a few tablespoons of margarine instead of the whole stick.
