Chili-Cheese Cornsticks

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped mild green chilies

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 425°.
  2. Grease cornstick pan well.
  3. In medium bowl combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  4. Mix well. Add egg, milk and oil.
  5. With wire whisk beat just until smooth (1 minute).
  6. Stir in cheese and chilies.
  7. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
