Ingredients

  • 6 lb. hamburger
  • 3 or 4 diced onions
  • 1 diced green pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 large packages Williams chili powder
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon bay leaves
  • red pepper to taste
  • 4 lb. cooked pinto beans
  • 2 large cans tomato juice
  • 2 large cans tomato sauce
  • 1 quart diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 jar hot taco sauce

Instructions

  1. Scramble hamburger, diced onions, and diced green pepper in a large skillet.
  2. Drain excess fat from the meat mixture.
  3. Add salt, pepper, chili powder, taco seasoning, and bay leaves to the meat mixture. Mix well.
  4. Add tomato sauce, tomato juice, and diced tomatoes. Bring to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes.
  5. Add cooked pinto beans and hot taco sauce to the chili.
  6. Simmer the chili for at least 1 hour, adding water if needed.
