Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 envelope chili mix
  • 1 (15 oz.) can chili beans
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 qt. tomatoes
  • 4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef together with chopped onion and bell pepper.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the beef mixture.
  3. Add remaining ingredients: chili mix, chili beans, tomato paste, tomatoes, water, salt, chili powder, oregano, cumin, and black pepper.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
