Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1-1/2 lb. hot sausage
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 green pepper or plabono pepper, chopped
  • 3 large onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp. dry parsley
  • 1 large can tomatoes and small Rotel
  • 1/3 c. chili powder
  • 1-1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp. Accent
  • 1-1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 can beer
  • 3 cans kidney beans (1 red, 1 dark red, 1 white)

Instructions

  1. Brown beef and sausage in heavy pot.
  2. Saute peppers in oil for 5 minutes.
  3. Then add onions and garlic.
  4. Cook until tender.
  5. Add tomatoes and parsley.
  6. Stir in chili powder.
  7. Cook 10 minutes and add remaining ingredients EXCEPT beans.
  8. Cook covered.
  9. Simmer 1 hour.
  10. Then add beans.
  11. Let cook on lowest heat for another 1 hour. Stir occasionally.
  12. Keep on lowest heat.
