Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • Chocolate Coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix softened butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Blend in flour and salt until the dough is smooth.
  4. Stir in semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  5. Shape the dough into 2-inch logs.
  6. Place the logs on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 12 to 14 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool.
  8. Spread chopped pecans on waxed paper.
  9. Dip one end of each cookie into the chocolate coating, then into the chopped pecans.
  10. Place the coated cookies on waxed paper until the chocolate sets.
  11. Store airtight or refrigerate.
