- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix softened butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
- Blend in flour and salt until the dough is smooth.
- Stir in semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
- Shape the dough into 2-inch logs.
- Place the logs on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 12 to 14 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool.
- Spread chopped pecans on waxed paper.
- Dip one end of each cookie into the chocolate coating, then into the chopped pecans.
- Place the coated cookies on waxed paper until the chocolate sets.
- Store airtight or refrigerate.
