Ingredients

  • 3 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a 2-quart saucepan, melt the unsweetened chocolate and margarine over low heat; remove from heat.
  3. Gradually beat in sugar until well combined.
  4. Blend in eggs one at a time.
  5. Add flour, vanilla extract, and baking powder; mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in chopped nuts.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the greased pan.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.
  9. Cool the brownies and cut into squares.
