- In a large saucepan, combine the butter, milk, chocolate syrup, sugar, and salt.
- Put the saucepan on the stove over medium heat and stir until the mixture is well mixed.
- Bring to a boil, then remove the pan from the heat.
- Add the rolled oats, vanilla, coconut, and chopped nuts to the mixture and stir well.
- Put waxed paper onto cookie sheets.
- Drop the batter from a teaspoon onto the waxed paper.
- Refrigerate for 1/2 hour before serving.
