Chocolate Crown Cake

- Melt 1/3
- cup
- chocolate chips;
- set aside.
- Grease and flour bottoms of 2 (9-inch) cake pans.
- Combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter.
- Stir in walnuts and 2/3 cup chocolate chips; set
- aside.
- Combine
- flour,
- soda and
- salt; set aside.
- Cream butter, gradually
- add
- 1
- 1/2 cups sugar; cream well.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Blend in melted chocolate chips
- and vanilla.
- Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk (starting
- and
- ending with dry ingredients). Pour 1/2 batter into
- each pan.
- Sprinkle with crumb mixture. Bake at 375° for
- 30 to 40 minutes.
- Cool.
- Wrap in wax paper and
- refrigerate.
- Mix whipping
- cream
- for
- approximately
- 2 minutes with 4 tablespoons sugar and put in between layers and on top of cake.
