Ingredients

  • 1 c. fine bread crumbs
  • 2 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. ground connamon
  • 1 tsp. ground allspice
  • 1 3/4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 lb. sweet butter (cut in pieces)
  • 1 c. hot coffee
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 c. chopped candied ginger

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 325°F.
  2. Butter a 10x12-inch pan and dust with bread crumbs.
