Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 16 ounces semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Kahlua
  • 3 egg yolks

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, water, and instant coffee; bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes.
  2. Using the metal blade of a food processor, add heavy cream and process until very thick, about 1 minute.
  3. Transfer the whipped cream to a large bowl.
  4. Place the blade back into the food processor without rinsing the bowl.
  5. Add semi-sweet chocolate pieces and process on/off for 20 seconds.
  6. Continue processing, then add hot syrup, Kahlua, and egg yolks.
  7. Process for approximately 20 seconds until well combined.
  8. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture gently.
  9. Freeze or chill the mousse before serving.
