Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold milk
  • 2 1/2 cups hot milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a 2-quart saucepan, combine cocoa, cornstarch, sugar, salt, and cold milk.
  2. Stir until smooth.
  3. Gradually add hot milk, stirring constantly.
  4. Heat over medium-low heat.
  5. Stir constantly until mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
  6. Cool the mixture and stir in vanilla.
  7. Layer the pudding and whipped cream or topping in parfait glasses to serve.
