Chocolate Peanut Chews

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 (300 g) package peanut butter chips
  • 1 1/4 cups chopped peanuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. Spray baking sheets with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Melt 1 1/3 cups chocolate chips and shortening in saucepan until smooth.
  4. Cool slightly, about 15 minutes.
  5. Beat eggs and sugar on high speed of electric mixer until well blended.
  6. Stir in chocolate mixture and vanilla.
  7. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  8. Mix well.
  9. Drop dough by tablespoons onto greased baking sheets.
  10. Bake for 9-13 minutes, or until top cracks, but cookies are still moist inside.
  11. Cool 10 minutes then transfer to racks; cool completely.
