Ingredients

  • 3 lb. ground chuck or round of beef
  • 1 (6 oz.) can chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • green pepper
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped mushrooms, chopped onion, green pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into 8 thick patties about 3 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick.
  3. Combine soy sauce, molasses, and chili sauce to make the sauce mixture.
  4. Arrange the patties on the grill. Brush them with the soy sauce mixture.
  5. Cook, turning frequently and brushing with the sauce, until desired doneness is reached.
