Ingredients

  • 7 slices white bread
  • 2 packages (4 oz. each) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 3 strips bacon

Instructions

  1. Trim crusts from bread, crumble the bread, and mix with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  2. Spread the bread and cheese mixture in the bottom of a greased 7 1/2 x 12-inch baking dish.
  3. Beat eggs and milk together and stir in salt, pepper, and dry mustard.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and cheese in the baking dish.
  5. Lay the chopped bacon on top.
  6. Refrigerate the assembled casserole overnight.
  7. Next morning, bake uncovered at 350°F for 50 to 55 minutes.
