Instructions
- Cook potatoes and mash enough for 4 servings.
- Form ground beef into 4 patties.
- Brown the patties in a skillet.
- Add canned peeled tomatoes, 1 cup water, diced celery, and diced green pepper to the skillet.
- Cook the mixture for about 30 minutes.
- Make a paste with 1 tablespoon flour and 1/4 cup water.
- Remove the cooked patties and some of the vegetables from the tomato sauce.
- Keep the patties warm.
- Add the flour and water paste to the sauce to thicken. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the hamburger patties with mashed potatoes and gravy.
