Cinnamon Breakfast Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, slivered

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  2. Add sugar, 2 tablespoons melted butter and beaten egg; mix thoroughly.
  3. Gradually blend in milk.
  4. Pour batter into an 8-inch square pan.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over top; also butter slivers.
  6. Bake in a hot (425°) oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
