Ingredients

  • 1 cup commercial sour cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Combine sour cream, 1/2 cup sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Mix well. Add eggs, 1/2 cup softened butter, and 2 1/4 cups flour; beat until smooth.
  3. Add remaining flour; mix well.
  4. Turn dough out onto a floured surface.
  5. Knead until dough is smooth and elastic, about 5 to 8 minutes.
  6. Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to grease the top.
  7. Cover and let rise in a warm place (85°F) free from drafts for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until doubled in size.
