Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
  • Raisin Filling
  • Cinnamon Icing

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar until smooth.
  2. Sift together all-purpose flour, soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture.
  3. Add quick-cooking rolled oats and 1 tablespoon water; mix until crumbly.
  4. Firmly pat half of the mixture in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
  5. Spread with Raisin Filling.
  6. Mix remaining crumbs and 1 tablespoon water; spoon over filling and pat smooth.
  7. Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for about 35 minutes.
  8. Cool the bars and drizzle with Cinnamon Icing.
