Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted cake flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 small can concentrated orange juice
  • confectioners sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter, gradually adding sugar while mixing.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add one egg at a time to the creamed mixture, blending well after each addition.
  4. Alternately mix in the milk and flavorings with the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture, and blend well after each addition.
  5. Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan and bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 45 to 55 minutes.
