Ingredients

  • 1 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 c. Quaker oats (regular)
  • 1/4 c. corn meal
  • 1/4 c. wheat germ
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 c. buttermilk
  • 1/3 c. canola oil

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix all dry ingredients together.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, oil, and egg yolks and beat well.
  3. Slowly stir the buttermilk mixture into dry ingredients until thoroughly mixed.
  4. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into the batter.
