Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup All-Bran cereal
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 to 4 cups flour
  • melted butter

Instructions

  1. Combine shortening, boiling water, All-Bran cereal, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Let the mixture cool to lukewarm.
  3. Add the dry yeast, beaten egg, and enough flour to form a soft, slightly sticky dough.
  4. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape into small balls.
  6. Dip each ball in melted butter and place three into each well-greased cup of a muffin pan.
  7. Let the rolls rise until doubled in size.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes until golden brown.
