Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 (3 1/2 oz) can flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  2. Cream butter well and add brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla; beat until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add dry ingredients; mix well.
  4. Stir in coconut and chopped pecans.
  5. Spread in a buttered 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes.
  7. Cool completely.
  8. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and cut into bars.
