Tips & Substitutions

For added flavor, consider using homemade chicken stock if you have it. If you want a lighter soup, feel free to substitute the yellow squash with zucchini. You can also use leftover rotisserie chicken to save time. To enhance the dish, add a squeeze of lemon juice just before serving for brightness.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the soup with freshly baked bread or a side salad for a complete meal. It pairs beautifully with Quick Deviled Crab for a delightful contrast. For an extra touch, sprinkle some fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro on top just before serving to enhance the presentation.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply warm on the stove over low heat until heated through, adding a splash of water if the soup thickens too much. Freezing is also an option; cool completely before transferring to freezer-safe containers.
