Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage, shredded

  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vinegar

Instructions

  1. Combine shredded cabbage, minced onion, chopped green pepper, and 1 cup sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a saucepan, combine 1 tablespoon sugar, salt, celery seed, dry mustard, water, and vinegar.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Pour the hot dressing over the vegetables and mix well.
  5. Cool in the refrigerator for 24 hours before serving.
