Cookin' Beef Supper
Ingredients
- 2 tsp. oil ⓘ
- 2 lb. cubed beef (round/sirloin) ⓘ
- 1 small onion, chopped ⓘ
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained (reserve syrup) ⓘ
- 1/3 c. soy sauce ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. ginger ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch ⓘ
- 1 small green pepper, sliced ⓘ
- 6 to 8 mushrooms, sliced ⓘ
- 1 c. celery, sliced ⓘ
- 1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, sliced ⓘ
Instructions
- Heat oil in wok or large skillet.
- Cook and stir meat and onion until onion is tender and meat is almost done.
- Add water, the reserved mandarin orange syrup, soy sauce and ginger.
- Heat to boiling.
- Reduce heat and cover.
- Simmer as long as desired to tenderize the meat.
