Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • salt to taste
  • chopped giblets
  • 3 pt. hot broth
  • 12 day-old homemade biscuits
  • 1 pan hot corn bread (13 x 6 x 1-inch thick)

Instructions

  1. Scald your biscuits with hot broth.
  2. Add mashed cornbread and potatoes.
  3. Add the egg, salt, and pepper.
  4. Mix with enough broth to achieve a hush puppy consistency, not drippy.
  5. Add the chopped giblets and put the mixture in a well-greased baking dish.
  6. Brush some broth grease on top of the mixture.
  7. Bake at 450°F for about 30 minutes.
