Ingredients

  • 2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
  • 1 1/2 c. corn meal
  • 2 c. white flour
  • 1 1/2 c. white or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

Instructions

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together.
  2. Add milk.
  3. Spread in a greased pan.
  4. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
  5. Cool until easily handled, then crumble through wire or whatever.
  6. Toast dry in 350° oven.
