Tips & Substitutions

For an extra depth of flavor, consider marinating the meats in the seasonings overnight. If you don't have venison, feel free to substitute with more pork or beef. Using fresh herbs instead of dried can also enhance the dish. Searing the meat well is crucial for developing a rich gravy, similar to techniques used in No-Fuss Swiss Steak.

Serving Suggestions

This hearty dish serves beautifully over Fluffy Rice, mashed potatoes, or creamy polenta. A side of crusty bread can help soak up the rich gravy. For a refreshing contrast, serve a simple salad with vinaigrette. Pair it with a robust red wine to complement the meat flavors.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When reheating, add a splash of water to maintain moisture and heat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave until warmed through. This dish can also be frozen for up to 2 months; just be sure to cool it completely before freezing.
