Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 2 c half and half
  • 2 c milk
  • fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 cans lump crab meat
  • 10 oz frozen broccoli, thawed

Instructions

  1. Saute butter and diced onion until translucent.
  2. Add flour, half and half, and milk, then stir until the mixture thickens.
  3. Optional: thicken further with cornstarch if desired.
  4. Add freshly ground black pepper, crab meat, and thawed broccoli, then heat thoroughly.
  5. Just before serving, stir in grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Serve topped with croutons or oyster crackers, alongside warm, crusty French bread if desired.
