Ingredients

  • 1 pound lump crabmeat
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 scant teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon tabasco
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon tarragon vinegar
  • 1-1/2 cups mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Divide crabmeat into 6 portions and place each in individual remekins.
  2. Use crab shells as serving vessels if desired.
  3. Bake in a 400°F (200°C) oven until heated through, then top each with strips of crisp bacon.
  4. Blend together dry mustard, paprika, celery salt, and tabasco.
  5. Add chili sauce and tarragon vinegar to the mixture and stir well.
  6. Mix in mayonnaise until smooth.
  7. Spread the sauce over the warm crabmeat portions and heat under the broiler until bubbly and lightly browned.
  8. Serve immediately.
