- In a large pot, mix butter, sugar, and Karo syrup.
- Cook the mixture to a rolling boil and maintain for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and baking soda; mixture will foam.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn and mix until well coated.
- Bake for 1 hour, stirring every fifteen minutes to ensure even coating.
- Remove from oven, let cool, then store in covered containers.
