Cream cheese potatoes are a creamy, cheesy side dish with tangy sour cream and melted cheddar, perfect for comforting family dinners or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • additional milk as needed
  • 8 to 10 peeled potatoes
  • Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook peeled potatoes with 1 teaspoon of salt until tender.
  2. Drain and mash the potatoes.
  3. Blend in cream cheese, sour cream, dried onion, salt, and pepper. Add milk if needed to reach desired consistency.
  4. Transfer the mashed mixture into a 3-quart casserole dish.
  5. Top with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake at 325°F for 30 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted.
