Ingredients

  • 3 c. Imperial granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. cream
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. nuts

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, cream, water, corn syrup, and salt; cook to soft ball stage (236°) or 240° above boiling point of water.
  2. Remove from heat and allow to cool undisturbed until the pan can be held with comfort.
  3. Add vanilla flavoring; stir until creamy.
  4. Add nuts and turn into a buttered pan to harden.
  5. Once cooled and hard, cut into squares.
  6. May also be molded into various shapes.
