Ingredients

  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 (17 oz.) can creamed corn
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 5 cups milk
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepot, sauté bacon pieces until lightly browned.
  2. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels.
  3. In the same saucepot, sauté chopped onion and diced red pepper.
  4. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring often.
  5. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Gradually stir in milk, creamed corn, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  7. Bring just to boiling point over low heat; simmer for one minute, stirring constantly.
  8. Sprinkle the chowder with the sautéed bacon pieces before serving.
