Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. ginger

Instructions

  1. Cream the shortening and sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add egg, milk, and molasses to the creamed mixture.
  3. Beat together until well combined.
  4. Sift the dry ingredients (salt, soda, cinnamon, ginger) together.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and blend thoroughly.
  6. Roll dough into balls the size of a walnut.
  7. Place the balls on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8 to 10 minutes.
