Ingredients

  • green tomatoes
  • milk and egg mixture
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Slice green tomatoes to desired thickness.
  2. Dip tomato slices into a milk and egg mixture to coat.
  3. Combine flour and bread crumbs to make a breading mixture.
  4. Roll the tomato slices in the flour and bread crumbs mixture.
  5. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Add the breaded tomato slices to the skillet and cook, covered, until browned.
  7. Uncover the skillet and turn the tomato slices over.
  8. Lay a piece of mozzarella cheese over each tomato slice and cover the pan.
  9. Cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
