Crock-Pot Bread Stuffing
Ingredients
- 1 c. margarine
- 2 c. onion, chopped ⓘ
- 2 c. celery, chopped ⓘ
- 1/4 c. parsley, chopped ⓘ
- 12 to 13 c. slightly dry bread cubes ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. poultry seasoning ⓘ
- 1 1/2 tsp. sage ⓘ
- 1 tsp. thyme ⓘ
- salt and pepper to taste ⓘ
- 4 to 4 1/2 c. chicken or turkey broth ⓘ
- 2 eggs, well beaten ⓘ
- diced giblets and mushrooms (optional) ⓘ
Instructions
- Melt butter and saute onion, celery and parsley.
- Pour over bread cubes in a very large mixing bowl.
- Add seasonings and toss together well.
- Pour in enough broth to moisten.
- Cooked giblets and mushrooms may be added at this time.
- Add beaten eggs and mix together well.
- Pack lightly into crock-pot.
- Cover and set to high for 45 minutes, then reduce to low to cook for 4 to 8 hours.
