Crummy Apple Pie
Ingredients
- 9 inch Pie Shell ⓘ
- 1 cup flour ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon shortening ⓘ
- 2 or 3 tablespoons cold water ⓘ
- Measure flour and slat into bowl. Cut-in shortening. Sprinkle water on mixture while tossing with fork. Roll dough on floured pastry cloth to 2 inches larger than 9 inch pie pan. ⓘ
- Apple Filling: ⓘ
- 3/4 cup sugar ⓘ
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 6 cups thinly peeled and sliced tart apples. ⓘ
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Bake for 50 minutes. Cover pie with foil after 40 minutes.
