Ingredients

  • salt
  • canola oil
  • flour
  • warm-hot water
  • white sugar
  • active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of the unbleached flour and the yeast.
  2. Add sugar and salt to the dry mixture and whisk well.
  3. Add warm-hot water and canola oil to the mixture.
  4. Beat at low speed of electric mixer for 1/2 minute, scraping the sides of the bowl constantly.
  5. Beat 3 minutes at high speed.
  6. By hand, stir in enough of the remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough.
  7. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  8. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the entire surface.
