Sweet, chewy date-nut Krispies combine rich dates, crunchy nuts, and crispy cereal for a delightful treat suitable for snacking or sharing with friends and family.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. dates
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 lb. margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 cup nuts

Instructions

  1. Combine dates, sugar, margarine, and egg in a saucepan and cook, stirring until thickened.
  2. Remove from stove and stir in Rice Krispies and nuts.
  3. Sprinkle powdered sugar in the bottom of a cookie sheet.
  4. Spread the mixture in the cookie sheet and sift more powdered sugar on top.
  5. Cut into 1 1/2 inch squares and store in a closed container.
  6. Will keep indefinitely in the refrigerator.
