Date Pecan Rocks

Ingredients

  • 2 c. pecans, broken into large pieces
  • 2 c. dates, cut into large pieces
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. butter or shortening
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 4 Tbsp. hot water

Instructions

  1. Cream butter or shortening and sugar.
  2. Add dry ingredients and water.
  3. Mix well.
  4. This makes a very stiff dough.
  5. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
