Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 3/4 teaspoon grated lemon rind
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Melt margarine in a heavy skillet.
  2. Stir in sugar, egg yolk, and chopped dates.
  3. Cook and stir over low heat for 5 minutes or until mixture is thick.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Stir in lemon juice, grated lemon rind, and chopped nuts. Cool.
  6. Drop or roll into balls and roll in powdered sugar.
